Building Your Classic Rock Music Collection
Chris Migliaccio

Dedicated to the memory of Jerry Garcia (1942 - 1995)

"From the land of the midnight sun where the ice blue roses grow
'long those roads of gold and silver snow - howling wide or moaning low
So many roads I know;
So many roads to ease my soul"

(from So Many Roads , Jerry Garcia & Robert Hunter)

Here's my list of "must-haves" for someone wishing to build a classic rock collection. In creatingthis list, you'll see that I've selected albums with good musicianship, memorable melodies and great lyrics.I also prefer well-recorded live performances as they capture more of a band's true essence than heavily doctored studio tracks. The Greatest Hits / Best of... collections listed here provide newcomers to the classic rock genre with a solid overview of the bands listed.

Rock on!
