FINAL EXAM
DIRECTIONS
In your writing, you should:
· Write in black or blue pen.
· Establish your main idea clearly.
· Develop your main idea with adequate and relevant support.
· Organize your ideas logically and coherently.
· Make effective choices in vocabulary and sentence structure.
· Observe the rules of standard American English grammar, spelling, capitalization and punctuation.
· Take a few minutes to think about what you want to say before you start writing. Leave yourself a few minutes at the end of the period to proofread and make corrections.
· You should write as neatly as possible so that evaluators can easily read your essay.
· Return all exam materials to your instructor.
In your writing, you should not:
· Write your essay in pencil or on notebook paper.
· Write papers that are off topic. Such papers will receive a failing score.
· Rewrite your rough draft paper, instead cross out and/or add any information necessary to improve your essay.
· Use a dictionary.
You will have 60 minutes to plan, write and proofread a 4 - 5 paragraph essay on one of the topics below. Do not begin until you are told to do so.
