Vital Signs

Vital signs provide objective data that is used to assess the patient's health status or condition and the need for intervention.

Vital Signs are:

  • Temperature

  • Pulse

  • Respiration

  • Blood Pressure

  • Pain

This exercise focuses on blood pressure.

Blood pressure is a measure of the force (pressure) of the blood as it flows through the arteries. Assessment of a patient's blood pressure provides information about the circulatory system, specifically the elasticity of the arterial walls, the efficiency of the heart as a pump, and the volume of circulating blood.
