Writing Rules
1. Write with your heart first, then edit with your head. Grammar and spelling come last. Ideas come first.
2. Avoid overused words like People, Interesting, and so on. Find better substitutes.
3. Avoid the passiive. And whenever possible find substitutes for the verb BE and its forms.
4. Don't mix Fire and Gas: Don't start with subordination, then add a FANBOYS-for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so with a following independent sentence.
5. Watch out for sentences that have a Participle in the beginning. Make sure the subject after the comma relates to the action of the participle.
6. Statements can begin with WHAT. WHOSE can be used to refer to inanimate objects.
7. Avoid words such as KIND OF, or sentence beginning or containing BEING, unless this is the only way it can be said, or the only choice available.
