My Background and Interests
Joseph Weathers MSc, MAT, BSc. is an instructor of Computer Science at Miami Dade College in the school of Engineer and Technology (North Campus) where he teaches Computer Programming, Network Security, Operating Systems and Project Management since September 2020. He is currently Co-Principal Investigator for AI FOR ALL: Holistically Supporting Hispanic/LatinX Students through an Artificial Intelligence Curriculum Project.
His experience in the field includes working as an IT Project Manager, Programmer and an IT Educator for sixteen (16) years. Other professional certifications include: Critical Thinking for Teachers Certification (OAS/ITEN), Cybersecurity Master Bootcamp (HOFSTRA), Virtual College Certification (Provisional) and Microsoft Digital Literacy.
At the University of the West Indies, Mr. Weathers was Project Team Member on Bridging the Digital Divide in Jamaica Project - an action research into providing digital technologies and education to the poorer areas in Jamaica. In addition, he was awarded a distinction in the CBMIS masters’ program and the most outstanding final project (Lock-up Management Information System).
