Professor Corrales is  faculty adviser for MDC North's Delta Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Lambda in Florida.

 



FBLA-PBL is the premier student business association. Its mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.
 

To join PBL, please complete your completed application and submit to Professor Corrales in Room 3242-25 with your dues payment of $20.

We meet every other Wednesday at 12 noon in Room 3228. Please join us!

 

Irina Reshetnikova won first place in Economic Analysis and Decision Making at the 2009 Phi Beta Lambda State Leadership Conference held in Tampa, FL.  As a results of placing first in the state, Irina has qualified to compete at the 2009 PBL National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California on June 20 - 23, 2009.  She is an experienced competitor, having won Statistical Analysis at the SLC last year and competing at nationals in Atlanta last June.

A total of five MDC North students represented MDC North's PBL Delta Sigma Chapter at this year's SLC, including Roger Bejerano, Gershom Jones, Marc Sainvil, and Isabel Tepedino.
 

 

On Saturday, February 21st, eight members of the Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) Delta Sigma Chapter at MDC North Campus competed in various business areas at the PBL District V Conference.  We are pleased to announce our winners:

John Baron Macroeconomics (1st)

Vannessa Louchart:  Human Resource Management – written test (1st)

Isabel Tepedino:  Statistical Analysis (2nd), Financial Concepts (3rd)

Roger Bejerano:  Cyber Security (3rd)

 

Participants at the District Conference are active PBL members across the tri-county area representing Palm Beach Community College, Broward College, Northwood University, Miami Dade College, and Florida International University.  Select members will compete at the upcoming State Leadership Conference (SLC) in Tampa on March 19 – 22nd.  SLC winners may be eligible to continue on to Nationals in Anaheim, CA this summer.
 



 

Alexis Morfa, an MDC North Honors College Business student, won second place in Computer Applications at the 2008 Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) National Leadership Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.  Morfa earned a $100 prize sponsored by Friends of the Association for his performance.  The outgoing Student Life Liaison of the PBL Delta Sigma Chapter at MDC North Campus, Morfa will be attending Florida International University this fall.     

Our chapter’s President-elect, Irina Reshetnikova, also represented MDC North in the Statistical Analysis competitive event.  In total, 20 Miami Dade College students from PBL chapters at North and Kendall campuses participated in over 15 competitive events during the Conference held June 21 – 24, 2008.  A broadcast of the 2008 PBL Awards of Excellence program held June 24th may be viewed at http://www.nlc2008.com/nlc2008/ .


At the 2008 Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) State Leadership Conference in Tampa, students from the Delta Sigma Chapter at MDC North Campus performed very well in various business-related events.  Competitors at the conference represented dozens of PBL chapters from colleges and universities throughout the state.  Please extend a hearty congratulations to our winners:

On June 26th, Osmel Guzman, an MDC North Business student, won first place in Accounting Principles at the 2007 Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) National Leadership Conference in Chicago, Illinois. Guzman earned a $750 prize sponsored by KPMG when he earned the highest score in an accounting exam, beating students from institutions such as the University of Wisconsin - Madison, Duquesne University, and the University of Nebraska. His accounting instructors were Professors Julio Borges and Robert Barton. Guzman, outgoing president of the PBL Delta Sigma Chapter at MDC North Campus, will be attending the University of Florida's Warrington College of Business Administration this fall.

First-year Honors College student Adrian Morales also represented MDC North in the Economic Analysis & Decision Making competitive event. In total, 28 Miami Dade College students from PBL chapters at North, Kendall and Wolfson campuses participated in over 20 competitive events during the Conference held June 23 - 26, 2007.
