    EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY

I believe that students learn best by doing.  Therefore, creating activities for students to actively learn and master mathematics are important.  It is not just student effort and motivation that leads to a success of learning mathematics but mastery of the concepts.  One of my goals in the classroom is to deliver and communicate concepts in a clear and understandable way for my students.  I start by tapping into the foundation of their prior knowledge such as concepts they learned from arithmetic.  I also highlight to students the importance of learning the language of mathematics and expect them to use these terminologies properly and consistently in the classroom.  I also believe in helping my students develop good study skills for a more rewarding experience with mathematics.

    CURRENT PROJECTS

Teaching and learning Strategies Survey
I am interested in getting my students feedback of the teaching strategies that I use in class as well as projects for student learning both inside and outside of the  classroom.  Please take a few minutes to take this survey.  Your responses are very important and will assist me in designing my future courses.
