COMPUTER SCIENCE, ENGINEERING and MATHEMATICS

SCHOLARSHIPS PROGRAM

Miami Dade College and the National Science Foundation are offering scholarships in the amount of $3,125 per academic year to students pursuing degrees in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Engineering. The National Science Foundation, established in 1950, promotes and advances scientific progress in the United States.   It is committed to ensuring the nation’s supply of scientists, engineers, and science educators by enabling individuals to pursue technical careers.  The Department of Natural Sciences, Health & Wellness shares this commitment and is sponsoring this scholarship program for individuals who are interested in furthering their education in these disciplines.

 

ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible for consideration, an applicant must:

 

 

HOW TO APPLY:

 

·         Complete the form on the reverse side.  You can do this immediately, even before you do anything else.

·         If you have not already done so, complete an admission application to Miami Dade College. You can do this via the Internet at www.mdc.edu or by calling The New Student Center at (305) 237-3076.

·         Submit a current Degree Audit

·         If you have not already done so, submit a federal financial aid application. You can do this via the Internet at www.fafsa.ed.gov   or by calling The New Student Center at (305) 237-3076.

·         Submit one written recommendation from a mathematics or science teacher who is familiar with your work.

·         You may include an optional typed personal statement or essay no longer than two pages regarding your goals and aspirations.
