BROAD GENERAL STATEMENT

    ATTENTION GETTER There are many radio  stations I can tune to on my way to school in the morning.  On 94.5 FM, I can listen to soft relaxing music.  Also, WAXY 106 FM provides me with up to the minute news and weather reports.  In addition, on 97.3 FM I can listen to health reports.  THESIS However HOT 105 FM is my favorite radio station.  POD I enjoy listening to this radio station because it is educational and informative. 

QUESTIONS

      ATTENTION GETTER Were you ever humiliated while ordering a meal at your local restaurant?  Were you over charged for a meal and got the impression it was your fault?  I experienced this at a Mc Donald's restaurant yesterday.  THESIS I will never visit the Mc Donald's on 95th street and 7th avenue again.  POD This restaurant lacks customer service and accurate pricing.

CONTRAST

    ATTENTION GETTER Taking a bus to work on a rainy day is an inconvenience.  Buses operate on a slower schedule.  They pass by every hour and passengers without umbrellas get wet.  Also, buses are late due to road construction.  The operation of bulldozers and men working cause buses to take a slower route.  THESIS Therefore, there are many advantages to owning a car.  POD Owning a car offers me convenience and comfort. 

STORY

    ATTENTION GETTER As Pam exited the number 84 bus, a young man took off with her purse.  She chased the guy for half a block, but she was unable to catch up with him.  Shortly a good citizen with a cell phone reported the incident.  Two hours later the police officer came to investigate.  Exasperated by the incident, Pam left the area before the cops arrived.  THESIS I avoid this unsafe bus area because I am afraid of becoming a victim of crime.
