I want to extend a hearty thanks to each of the contributors of this semester's edition of Connections including its founding editor, Rene Izquierdo, who has been very generous with his time and expertise in helping me learn the ropes as new editor. Without his guidance, I'm sure that I would have been forced to edit "Spring Edition" to "Summer Edition."
Please take a few minutes to read each of the articles that have been collected here as quite a few of them shed new light on the PEOPLE who are our colleagues. Because of our busy schedules on various campuses, we don't often have a chance to share our ideas, our projects, our triumphs, or our heartbreaks with each other. This newsletter gives us that opportunity.
Publishing online can also open doors in ways we might not have expected. Margarita Orro, North Campus, wrote an article for the 7th edition of Connections. It caught the attention of Language Magazine and was later included in the June, 2006 issue. You never know what one article might lead to.
Enjoy this issue of Connections and start thinking of ideas for the fall. We look forward to hearing from you!
